On Cinema: The Podcast

Tim Heidecker hosts a podcast where he and film buff Gregg Turkington discuss their favorite movies.
2011
2012

On Cinema at the Cinema: The Early Seasons

Tim and Gregg bring On Cinema to the screen in order to rate the newest movies on a scale of 1 to 5 bags of popcorn. Alongside these weekly reviews, Gregg launches an effort to break a world record, and Tim almost immediately starts to face health issues that jeopardize his marriage and his ability to host the show.

On Cinema is Born.

The Decker Era

The On Cinema at the Cinema brand begins to expand beyond simply critiquing film. As Gregg fights to keep the show focused on the movies, Tim pushes to incorporate other topics like alternative medicine,  motorcycles, the publishing industry, and personal freedom. He even begins production on his very own movie.

‘Decker’ Season 1 Premieres

The Tom Cruise Era

As Decker is taken to more and more exotic locales, Tim and Gregg are busier than ever with the formation of the Victorville Film Archive and the return of Tim’s ex-lover and newborn son. But as the pressures of fatherhood mount, Tim lets his responsibilities slip, becoming fixated on starting his first ever band.

The Trial of Tim Heidecker

On Cinema At the Cinema is on a brief hold as a high profile murder trial in San Bernadino County stands in the way of the movie reviews.

The Delgado Era

Tim attempts to drag the show into the future, but a new adversary closes in with cause to take control of all On Cinema properties and make major personnel changes. As the resulting power struggle intensifies, the On Cinema crew is forced to navigate massive debts, incoming lawsuits, and the release of a defamatory documentary.

The HEI Era

With the formation of the HEI Network— and its acquisition of the Victorville Film Archive— On Cinema evolves into an independent news and entertainment platform. Tim and Gregg return with more original programming than ever, along with even more elaborate plans for the network’s future. As these plans begin to take shape, unexpected personal dramas threaten to unravel it all.

The Amato Era

An unlikely new financier steps in to keep the HEI network afloat, making changes to On Cinema's format and forcing Tim and Gregg to collaborate with new faces. As complicated relationships develop, mysterious events sow distrust among members of the two groups.

Introducing: Joey “Patron” Patrocelli

A New Beginning

After a messy fallout with The Amato Group, a newly moneyed Gregg steps up to keep the HEI Network afloat and steer On Cinema in a new, more movie-focused direction. But as Tim continues to antagonize the Amato Group by doubling down on his investment in G, his personal relationships strain and the future of the show hangs in the balance. On Cinema moves into an era defined by age, exhaustion, and loss-- yet it remains a source for weekly popcorn bag ratings on the newest films.
