No, Tim, On Cimema is not coming to an End.
“I’ll be back…!” -Arnold Schwartenegger and now Gregg Turkington as well.
Tim has had many times where he got things wrong (MANY of his movie reviews) and this is another one. While there are disussions that will be had to work out the datails, you can be sure that On Cinema will return, even if the name changes to incorporate the more popular show OUR CINEMA.
Many times a Re-Boot is needed. For instance, the “Fantastic Four” movie was rebooted this year and was 100x better than the previous version that was one of the few Marvel movies that no one liked. Another great Re-Boot this year was “The Smurfs” proving that the franchise is not just for children but can and should be a staple in cinema-going for decades to come. “Superman” is yet another that has been re-booted so many times, and every time it gets better. “Jaws” will be re-booted. “The Hobbit” too.
This chance to Move on and improve On Cinema is something that has been needed. Tim is sorely wrong to say it is coming to an End. If he wants to sit around and draw pictures that’s fine. Everyone can do what they want. But what MOVIE BUFFS want is expertise, and that is what Our and On Cinema have been providing for decades and that is NOT GOING TO CHANGE.
It’s True that Tim has not contributed expert opinions to the show for a long time, if ever. Recently I gave him movie tickets and later saw the tickets in his wallet a month later (they had expired). I didn’t say anything but I took note. As Clint Eastwoot said in Dirty Harry movies “A man’s got to know his limitations”. It would be Great to continue the show with an all-Expert staff for once.
And as for me? “I’ll be right here ” – E.T. (and now Gregg Turkington as well.
“Where we go from there is a choice I leave to you” – Keanu Reaves (The Matrix)
Where On Cinema will go? More Popcorn Classics. More reviews. More interviews with Movie legends like Joe Estevex, Candy Clark, and Jimmy McNichol. I think most people will choose to keep watching as I have plans for the show whatever name it goes under, to make it brtter for the True Blue movie buffs out there.
The “Farewell Tour” will be the Farewell of Tim, if that’s what he wants, but I will continue to tour my Movie Expertise Tour. And there will be less of “Dekkar” and MORE of what you all want which is MOVIE INFORMATION.
“Is the end? Of course not. I’ts only the beginning.” -GREASE (John Travolta and Olivie Newton John.)
