It’s Time We Bring Back Dress Codes
In the days of the Old West, two men walk into the General Store demanding to trade for horses, or get there weekly rashun of barley and oats. One man is impeckibly dressed, wide brimmed 10 gallan hat, waste-coat, leather chaps, clean shirt, bolo tie, wool trowsers, and polished boots. The other, poorly dressed, maybe just a t-shirt (a version of under wear in the old west days), dirty, with long hair…..what do you think would have happened? The second man is taken to the town squire and horse-whipped for his insulince in offending the properter/store oner with his poor atire.
Our dress has gone a long way away from those good old days. I’m talking about the importance of Dressing well, and looking proffesional in the workplace. Lately, there’s been some blow back on the appearance of certen guets’s (or one guest) of our show that has gone from being a distraction to being a total disaster when it comes to dress and apperrence. If your going to run a proffessionel show, it is benificial to look sharp and dress your best.
Its possible that having a Dress Code would be the end of any discussion as many bussinises use, and would insure the look and feel we are trying to acheve for On Cinema On Demand.
Why, do you ask? Internet sources say the benefits of having a Dress Code, and having one look their best, will lead to: 1. Looking There Best 2. Boosts Confidense 3. Proffessional 4. Would Foster Respect to guest 5. Limits Instinces of Violence 6. Positive Viewer impression. 7. Many more reason to many to list
To have one of our guests NOTt conforming to dress standards and in a manor that does not demonstrate OCOD’s comitment to delivering an excellent show is a slap in the face to viewers, and give them doubts that they are watching anything but a qaulity show.
Tips:
- Ordenery T-shirts should be forbiden, unless a “fitted” t shirt worn under a sport coat or blazer, neatly tucked in preferably.
- Trowser/pants prest and neat, and a good “drape”.
- Suspinders, if worn, should not be comical suspenders like Robin William but bussiness like suspinders. Belts are preferred.
- No “slogans” or advertising movies on clotthing.
- No caps.
- Suit and tie unless taylored, bisiness cashual clothing from stores such as Jay Crew or Nordstrum.
- Hair should be cut neat and above the ears and not touch the collar of your shirt. “Balding” men should cover patches with hare peises (Shawn Connery/007 wore a topay for this reason)UNLESS intentionally clean shaven (Danzell Washington, or our own Joey Patriselli (Joey P) are examples of this)
